Enabling buttons other than the default results in...just those buttons

Not sure if this is an issue with the theme I'm using (pixture) or what but I thought I'd report it...as soon as I enable any addtl button, I get only that single button when editing. If I disable that 'extra' button, the rest of the default buttons reappear.
