Issue Summary
first off this is an amazing module. thanks so much for making it. i am reporting this to be helpful. i don't need any kind of direct assistance.
i imported a wordpress 2.3.3 into drupal 5.8 w/ this module.
i found that three vocabulary items were created in drupal for each category coming from wordpress. the first item is blank, the second has one node associated with it, and the third has all of the correct nodes associated with it.
i am also getting this error:
Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\wamp\www\green\modules\taxonomy\taxonomy.module on line 1330

I tried to import your file and it worked without creating bad categories. Coud you tell me what is you version of PHP ? Maybe you should try to download and install the last version of the module. A few bugs have been fixed since July.

I'm using php 5.26 on a wamp.
I'll try the newest version and get back to you.
