Promotion granularity

Description
Currently, within the administrator configuration settings (administer > content > configure > content types > personal blog entry) there is a way to allow for all blog entries to be immediately promoted to the "front page". I however could not find a way to allow for the individual users to select if they want there posting to be promoted to the front page.
If your group could put in a feature that would allow for that level of granularity, I would be most appreciative.
