It has been suggested that I integrate Embed Widgets with the Token module, specifically for fields where you can enter a path to embed or enter Views arguments. I am having a hard time seeing the usefulness of this.

Widgets are not nodes and so they don't contain much information that could be used as tokens such as author, date, taxonomy, etc. The only useful tokens I can think of are tokens that are replaced by the current user or current date. I think that it would be easier to allow for the input of something like '%user' or '%date' than to integrate with the Token module.

Tokens on there own might not be terribly useful, however it would make integration with pathauto possible, which could be a good thing. Either way, I'd say that this is a secondary concern, and maybe a good feature request for post-GSoC.
