Can't get feedapi to function at all - SimpleFeed works fine

I'm trying to get this version of FeedAPI working with Drupal 6.3 and it just isn't playing nicely. No matter which feed parser I install (simplepie, common syndication parser, feedapi node - I've tried them all, even uninstalled all but one at a time to avoid confusion) I get *nothing* in my feeds. I don't get any errors or messages anywhere. It's totally silent, as though the parser isn't even being triggered.
Also, when I save feed settings in a feed and come back to edit, all the fields are blank again. Perhaps this is related?
As a sanity check and to ensure it isn't a problem with my server settings, I installed SimpleFeed and it worked immediately and without issue. I would just use SimpleFeed, but it won't support the simple XML structures I need to support - seems the Common Syndication Parser will support them, but no good if FeedAPI won't work. =(
Any suggestions?

I am trying the module out now and seeing the same problems you note here, Greg. Nothing being added to feeds, no errors and no information in the FeedAPI part of the node when I go back in to look at it.

Having just read a little further down the issue queue, I see there is another thread related to this issue at #260670: Feed URL is discarded, feed items not saved, and it contains a couple of suggested fixes, so closing this as a duplicate.
