Issue Summary
I have successfully set up cron to reindex my site. I can search for and find items within standard node content. On the Search page I have a FORUM tab however no matter what I enter there I cannot locate anything from within UIE, is search functional for UIE ? If it is then what am I doing wrong ?
Thanks
Keith

looking at the project page. The downloads have been pulled. I'd be leary of using this module. Beyond that there is no way back once you start to use this. You can just turn it off and and have the data transfered to the core forum.module.
I don't believe UIE was compatible with drupal search as UIE used its own tables.

I know of the incompatibility but in all reality the core forum module, even with Advanced Forum, is not hat great and this looks and functions so much better. The module code seems to have SEARCH hooks in it and if I extract the code and pop into myPHPAdmin they seem to work, I just need to learn how to get that hook to fire.

VeryMisunderstood: I completely understand your reluctance to recommend the module, and of course, you're right to suggest that it not be used due to the lack of drupal node support. However, the core forum is simply inadequate. There are too many addons to be installed to make the thing "just work" like so many users expect forums to.
Anyway, rant aside, the issue at hand here is likely caused by you using an older version of the module Kieth. When did you download your current copy of it? There was a known issue with searching a while ago.

In all honesty I was using the latest version and kept gettting errors when trying to add groups / security. I reverted to an earlier version which I knew was working on another private site I had.
Think it's 4.7 dev I'm now using as I had problems with all over versions. What can I tweak in there to get search running as I and the users are happy with everything else and I'm reluctant to revert upwards again becuase of the problems I was experiencing.

Don't ask me why or how but as of today I can now search the forums on my site. I have not changed any code nor updated the module.
Happy but confused.

P.S. if you require beta when your node implementation kicks in then let me know.
