Release notes

This new release of Newswire brings in a new direction and style updates for the theme.

The nav bar styles have been updated to a more modern look and the CSS has been improved for better cross browser compatibility, in particular the suckerfish drop menus and IE8.

The fieldset issues that plauged IE has been fixed.

The color options style sheets have been split up and you can now mix and match navigation/header colors and the page grays or tans. There are new theme settings to support this new feature.

The biggest change is with the block styles - instead of hard coding block styles by region the theme now uses the Skinr module to deliver many configurable block styles. This is a big improvement, but, they are not support for IE6 (no borders will appear in IE6), please see the project page for the justification for this.

All the code was reviewed and many small tweaks have been made - improvements in code semantics and accessibility in particular.

Release notes

Critical update!

This release fixes a critical error in the right sidebar margin - when both right sidebars were enabled there was no margin. To fix this properly I have swapped the Right sidebars, so now the true Right sidebar is on the far right, and Right_2 is to the left of it (when enabled) so you will need to reset your blocks.

Additionally, the Right_2 sidebar is only meant to be active when the Right sidebar is already active, otherwise the layout will break. I will look at fixing this in a future release (probably in 6.2 as it needs re factoring of newswire_column_count_class function).

The search box has a minor style makeover.

Code was run through coder module and cleaned up to meet Drupal coding standards.

This release is likely the last of the 6.1 beta1 series, as I will move to focus on 6.2 with the new features.
