User tags not working

Description

Great module in concept, but after installation and setup I can't seem to get user tags to work at all. I added a user tag "TISTYLE" which has a replacement of "<h2 class="title">", and $TISTYLE$ shows up instead of its replacement upon either previewing or saving the node. On the other hand, things like "System tags", "Format tags", etc. seem to be working just fine.

I checked standard permissions (/admin/user/permissions) and those are good. Reptag permissions (/admin/settings/reptag/admin/permission) are also good (everything is checked for my role except for "Plain text replacements only"). Content Types (/admin/settings/reptag/admin/content) shows that the fields I'm using are allowing reptags to process.

I'm not sure what else to check, due to the lack fo documentation. Incidentally as a side note, I wonder if there is a simple FAQ or a basic "Getting Started" guide anywhere that someone can consult while we all wait for the official reptag documentation web site to finish transitioning?

Priority:critical» normal

Forgot to mention that the user tags I create do show up in ('Additional Rep[lacement]Tags') on the node edit form.

Also forgot to mention that if I create the exact same tags as SiteWide tags instead, they work fine (demoting issue from critical to normal). In case it's relevant, the "Privalege SiteWide" option in /admin/settings/reptag is unchecked.

I'm pretty busy atm 1. updating my site (and the documentation for RepTags) to Drupal 6.x and 2. getting all my modules ready for Drupal 6 as well. This somehow sounds like a bug in the 6.x-1.x version of reptag module. The latest code in cvs is the initial port of this module to D6 (with some major changes to the tags administration) and is little tested. So I will need to investigate this myself ...

@silurius: Do you still have this issue. UserTags are working fine in all my tests ...
