What is the right way to disable the classified ad tabs on the user profile?

I tried several different methods including trying to override the menu item... this allowed me to change the callback but not the type. In the end I had to change the type in the module itself but that solution is ugly to me.

Actually, I think some of my difficulty here is because of the Zen theme and a function they have for displaying the local tasks as tabs.

Update: nope, the problem wasn't Zen. That was purely a theming function. However, it was a great place for me to remove the tabs I didn't want. Too bad there isn't an easier way, like in the interface or something.

By design. If you want to submit a feature request to allow admins to disable UI features, by all means, please do so.
