I'am use a one leveled vocabularie, checkbox is on, but listing without counters
the same vocabularie with your module 5.x-2.0 working correct.

yes it dont works correct. When you clear your sites cache .../admin/settings/performance the number is correct, as long as you dont add new content. So its a bug.
