I ran into this on Drupal 5.7. Most RSS readers deal with this fine, but Bloglines doesn't and quite a lot of my readers use Bloglines.

The attached diff is a hack: only use this if you're familiar with PHP and your site's URLs.

You'll have to tweak it to get it right for your site but I thought it may help some folks.
