I think the only remaining bug that's blocking a 5.x-1.1 release from going out is this:
#219680: Inadvertent dislosure of email address via signup
As soon as that's fixed in the DRUPAL-5 branch and we get a little more testing of 5.x-1.x-dev, I should make another (probably final) official release in the 5.x-1.* series. There are a lot of things I've fixed since 5.x-1.0 at this point.

I just committed a fix for that other issue. If anyone can do some testing of the end of DRUPAL-5 branch (5.x-1.x-dev) and report back here, I'd like to cut 5.x-1.1 in the next few days. Thanks!

Blocked again on #322924: $anon_signup_form is not an array. That bug isn't present in 5.x-2.*, only 5.x-1.*. Please review/test that, if possible.

I just setup a clean test site with DRUPAL-5 signup, clicked through everything I could think of, and found no problems (other than the systemic problems in the 5.x-1.* series, of course). ;) So, I tagged and released:
