As per 7.1 Extension Modules of READ ME.txt

Domain Configuration -- Allows you to change select system variables for
each subdomain, such as files directory, offline status, footer message and
default home page.

Where do i change the files directory?

I can see and set other system variables (listed below)on http://subdomain.domain.com/admin/build/domain/conf/8 (subdomainid)

Site Email Address
Site Footer message
Site Administrative Theme
Site Time zone
Site Front page
Site status
Site offline message

Where Site stands for the particular subdomain.

You cannot change the files directory, because changing that setting creates cascading problems that we have not been able to solve.

I did not realize that the documentation still referred to that.
