I am being spammed and search has only indexed a fraction of the site.

I imagine this is becasue of the above.

i would like to know how i can deal with these issues as well.

And then know when i will need to hand it over to others.

It may be time to hand over the responsibility for my sites who will be able to deal with the site security issues.

So, i am really looking for someone to deal with all the things that hackers will be able to throw at a site.

I was getting tons of spam emails and account signups until I installed the CAPTCHA module and that stopped it right away. Our site gets between 400,000 and 1,000,000 page views a day, with 15,000-20,000 Google referrals daily, so I can vouch that the method works well.

Captcha with the Recaptcha (for that extra eye candy) or you can try Mollom too:

Nothing is full proof... follow recommended steps to minimize spam - Captcha works (maybe even redundant - images and math or sentences, since images can now be cracked). Require registration with email validation etc. That will increase the amount of work it takes for spammer and probably discourage them.

You also need to ensure that you do not give PHP capabilities(Input filter) even to authenticated users.
