Description

I'm having the same problem as described at http://drupal.org/node/173780. The problem is intermittent and can be seen at http://ssusa.thinkhorizontal.com. Everything works fine in FireFox & Safari. I'm running Drupal 5.3. Any thoughts?

More information is needed here. Are you running any other contrib modules that load their own javascript? If so, try uninstalling them first and see if the problem goes away. If it's a matter of when the js is loaded on the page you could try commenting out the loading of the js in the fade_slideshow_show() function and then manually inserting it at the bottom of your page template file (page.tpl.php)

I'm having the same issue. I also have lightbox2 installed, and while that module has a UI for putting the js in the footer (which I have enabled), disabling lightbox2 fixes the problem. But, so does removing the fading slideshow from the page.

I've been trying to figure out how to do the suggestion in #1--there are two scripts called in the module, but one is dynamically generated. If I need to put both in my page.tpl.php, how do I not break the dynamic nature of the 2nd script? If I only need to put in the first, how do I get around the "fade_slideshow is undefined" js error I get in firebug?

For the time being, as a work around, I've used lightbox2's page specific settings to disable on the front page (which is where I'm using the slideshow, and am not loading any lightbox content).

I have lucid menu on and the same thing happens for me in IE also. I did find this article in the web. It is a little too much for me as I am a newbie. If any of you can read it and let me also know how we can remove this problem in Drupal, I am sure a lot of us would benefit!.

I found using Javascript Tools - Tabs with this module causes this IE error. Possibly the same issue for you?

I finally found a javascript for slideshow that works perfect in IE but works ok in FF (no fading effect)!! At least it works in both. But my lucid menu still acts funny in IE. The second items are not clickable...Anybody can help?

I had a similar issue with some other module, and this did the trick for me: http://talk.cmyweb.net/2008/01/26/ieoperation-aborted-solution/
