"disable rich-text" link takes over my whole node-edit form? What the heck?

bflora - August 4, 2008 - 21:12

I've been using my Drupal 5.7 install happily for sometime to publish an online magazine.

About 2 weeks ago, we started getting a really scary, bizarre error that's giving us fits. I need help.

What happens:

When you go to some of our nodes and click "edit," you're taken to the node edit form.....for about 2 seconds.

Then the screen goes white...with a "disable rich-text" link appearing on it. The page tries to load indefinitely and never stops trying. Hitting "back" returns you to the post form, where you/'re again shot back to the white screen with "disable rich-text" written on it.

So it's NOT the white screen of death. It's something else.

It stops when you turn off TinyMCE for nodes, but I need Tiny MCE. Also, I do not want to switch to another text editor. TinyMCE is what we were using happily for months.

What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Anyone else have this

I have this same problem too. my whole screen appear blank with a link "disable rich-text"

It occur when i want to edit a node. I had replace the jquery.js in misc folder.
Mine happen, as soon as i replace the jquery.js file from jquery_update module.

My situation is i install imagefield.module, imagefield_crop.module as i want to use crop in CCK. after i installed it , it also require jquery_update and jquery_interface modules.

Anyone know what's the problem?

Is there a conflict between jquery and Tiny MCE?

Thanks

Any other ideas?

Does anyone have any other ideas as a fix? I tried installing the jquery_update module and replacing the jquery file in /misc/. Neither have worked. My site was also working perfectly for several months...

I saw in forum http://drupal.org/node/246611 the suggestion to disable the toggle, which I did. And it works, but then of course I don't have the toggle option.

Thanks-
