I'm trying to figure out how to make a photo gallery like so.

I want the person to be able to make a piece of new content called "Photo Gallery". I'm trying to get it to work kind of like facebook's gallery feature. Basically they can first name the gallery, click a button to upload photos, which then takes them to a search box on their computer to select as many photos as they like. When they finish selecting, the photos upload and are included in the gallery. Then they can choose which photo to make the front thumbnail. The front thumbnail will be the picture that appears on the gallery page (there will be just one gallery page that displays each invididual gallery's thumb) and when they click on a thumb, lightbox opens up and shows does the slideshow for the particular gallery.

Is there a way to do this?? Does that make sense?

It surely makes sense and there are quite a lot of modules for this. Search downloads for "photo gallery".

I know this is prodding an old post, but it can help others in your situation (I'm guessing you found the ideal solution for your own individual needs), if you post a final "here's what I ended up doing" post.

This also reduces the number of search results that lead to 'question unresolved' posts.
