Is it possible to use the file description (as entered within the file upload area) instead of the actual file name within the dropdown selector? I would like to be able to show a list of documents such as:
Sales form
Purchase order
Invoice sheet
etc.

instead of:
sales-form.doc
po.doc
invoice.pdf
etc.

As I attached files to the 'category' page (as in your instructions), I changed the description so if I view that node directly I see the descriptions. However once linked to the the content type with the CCK dropdown i see the file names when I view that node.

That's a good idea. I will probably get the chance to update this for D6 in February for a project at work, so this will be a very welcome feature I'm sure.
