My setup is Drupal 6.3, and I'm using the latest dev of lightbox2 because it fixed the issues associated with imagefield: http://drupal.org/node/283661
In firefox and opera, lightbox2 works as it should, loading the picture and turning the background a translucent gray.
In IE7 the screen turns opaque black, and in IE6 opaque grey.
I tried changing the overlay color and opacity, but that had no effect. I tried setting the module to "lightbox2 lite", and that also had no effect.

B.P.B commentedThanks for the IE fix. A strange thing happened while switching from 2.8 to dev.
After uninstalling lightbox2.8 and installing the DEV release, my image fields suddenly stopped appearing. Also, In content types "display fields" the option to choose lightbox vanished. Even after reinstalling the older lightbox2, the problem persisted. The only way I could bring my views/imagefield setup back was to delete the content type entirely and recreate it.
In summary, what exactly does lightbox2 uninstall perform and is it known to break fields?

stella commentedWhy did you install lightbox2 5.x-2.8, when you're running Drupal 6.3? Please open a separate support request with this issue.
