My site uses a posting limit of 1 per 24 hours. I have a great deal of members who log in and post every day at a certain time, usually in the evening. If they use up their quota one day at 8:15, they'd have to wait until 8:16 the next day. And of course, they won't post exactly at 8:16-- perhaps more like 8:23. So every day their "posting time" shifts back, until it's well after the period they'd usually be asleep. Then can't post one day, because their quota doesn't allow them.
One clever member suggested instead we change the module so that it allows 1 post per 23.5 hours -- which would achieve the same mission, only it would allow people with inflexible schedules to post every day if they wish, without running into this problem.
My suggestion-- introduce a field called "Per X" that would allow administrators to set a quota of, for example, 1 post per 23.5 hours, or a post per 12 hours, or even a post per 3 months. This would introduce a great deal of flexibility and granularity -- it would allow administrators to set a quota length that could equal pretty much anything -- from quarters on a corporate calendar to moon cycles to the monsoon season, and on and on.
