display calculation as field

would it be possible to have the 3 calculations be added as a field, just sum, count and avg (or avg all), having it reference back to the existing config/viewscalc setup page instead of the view type method? maybe similar to the 'Comment: count' field. the logic behind the request is that active_template and theme_wizard modules have no way of accessing the calculations giving better control of the layout. in the end i would like the capability to pull a subset of info from a view with calculations, some info from the table and some of the calculated fields. i can imagine this would be a total rewrite and with D6 in the works not very likely for D5 ... but one can always hope.
