Error Message: "MySQL server has gone away.."

I was setting up some roles in the ecommerce role module (paid subscriptions) and when I finished saving one I got the following error message when I tried to access my site http://www.pvtvest.com (with any url extension). Is this a Drupal or a hosting issue? If the former, how can I fix it? I have no access whatsoever to my site.
