I've got Views Module enabled. And the checkbox is checked to shot in user profile. Is there an additional step to making that work?

There shouldn't be. Have you edited the default view?

Looking into your issue I noticed that I'm having the opposite issue -- I can't prevent subqueues from displaying on user profile pages.

For the time being, I'm marking everything 'critical' that needs to be fixed by the end of the Summer of Code (this coming Monday).
