Currently, unless I am missing something, the UI for adding a memetracker is not intuitive -- adding a memetracker is only possible via a tab when viewing an existing memetracker, and then the link for adding a new memetracker includes the mid of an existing memetracker --

If memetrackers were nodes, it would be easier to categorize them via taxonomy (if needed) and to display them via views -- and in this specific use case, the feedapi (and the use of the feedapi-node) is a good model to replicate.

So really, this is two issues in one ticket -- bad form, but they are related enough to both fit here, at least as a starting point:

1. a cleaner ui is needed for adding memetrackers; and/or
2. memetrackers could be nodes.

What are the cons to having memetrackers be nodes?

This would seem to make sense to me, additional memes might be nodes as well, which then references the link the feed items / nodes.

This would give the module a good deal of flexibility, both in terms of views integration and theming.

Might look at the code and see how doable that is.
