The Backup module is no longer maintained. Perhaps this module and Backup could be merged? To be frank Backup Client-Server isn't a proper name for a backup module. It sounds far too complicated for users just looking for a module to backup their stuff.

I've thought about breaking out the backup portion to keep it simple and making the additional functionality into hooks + separate modules. This would then replicate what the backup.module does. I will contact the (ex)maintainer of backup.module.

I have no objection to making use of my code in a merge. It's all in CVS, and it's all under the GPL, so there shouldn't be any problems.

We chatted but didn't get any momentum. Maybe we'll get back to it later. In the mean time I've released a more feature rich 6.x version.
