when enter in the site administration takes a long time to load the page

I upgraded of 5.0 to 6.3, but when enter in the site administration takes a long time to load the page, but if I have the site in keeping well-off can navigate through the pages of administration normaly. Does any suggestions?

Upon entering the administration has given me the following message:

* user warning: Lost connection to MySQL server during query query: SELECT * FROM menu_router WHERE path IN ('admin/reports/request-test','admin/reports/%','admin/%/request-test','admin/reports','admin/%','admin') ORDER BY fit DESC LIMIT 0, 1 in /home/chs/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/home/html/includes/menu.inc on line 315.
* Se detectaron uno o más problemas en su instalación de Drupal. Para más información, revise el informe de estado.
* user warning: Lost connection to MySQL server during query query: UPDATE variable SET value = 'b:0;' WHERE name = 'drupal_http_request_fails' in /home/chs/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/home/html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 471.

Now, upon entering the administration of comments has given me the following message:

user warning: Lost connection to MySQL server during query query: SELECT * FROM menu_router path where IN ( 'admin / reports / request-test', 'admin / reports /%',' admin /% / request-test', 'admin / reports', 'admin /%',' admin') ORDER BY fit DESC LIMIT 0, 1 in / home / chs / xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com / home / html / includes / menu.inc on line 315.

That has not produced any results in google, I have also sought to slow people who go there and I just found a comment unanswered in this forum: http://www.drupal.org.es/node/3561

In short, thanks in advance

I had a similar problem which was caused by the "Update Status" module hanging because the site is behind a corporate firewall/proxy server.

Just disable the "Update Status" module and see if this helps you.

John

Update module was the culprit

I had a 6.9/6.10 site that worked fine on the test server, but wouldn't show any url that had "/admin/" in it, besides the login page.

Eventually I discovered this work around and after removing the update module, the admin loaded without a problem.

My hosting company had recently blocked all out-bound http request from their servers apart from a white list of acceptable domains. I've requested updates.drupal.org to be added.
