Some of the abbreviations you are using, I do not agree with. "ar" is the tld abbreviation for argentina, but you are showing a flag icon for a country I am not familiar with. "dk" is the typical tld abbreviation for Denmark as opposed to "da". Not sure why you are showing only 28 flags, whereas there are 195 countries in the world. There are many sources from which you can download flags, some of them copyright free. The italian flag is discolored.
If you solve the above three problems, it will be worth having a look at it again, but right now, this is alpha.

Title: Flag / tld issues » Flag / TLD issues
Status: Active » Closed (works as designed)

First, please create an issue per issue you have. Lumping stuff together makes it harder to work each one out on their own. Luckily, all of this is either already fixed, "by design", or "won't fix".

Let's take it from the top:

  1. We use language codes (notably per RFC 4646) for the flags, as they're going to represent a language rather than a country.
  2. We only have 30 flags, as that is what has been submitted to the project. Unfortunately, Jose and I both have things to do apart from providing flags for this module, so we have to rely on other people providing the flags they care for. (Also, per Ethnologue/SIL, there are currently 6.912 living, human languages - this doesn't count languages such as Latin, Esperanto, Interlingua, Klingon, and others that have perfectly valid grammar systems and extensive vocabularies so that it's possible to make translations based on them. If you want to provide icons for the missing 6.882 languages, it'd be greatly appreciated.) Note that it's very possible to use your own custom icons, rather than those shipping with Language Icons. Simply upload them to your server and point "Icons file path" to where you uploaded them.
  3. How is the Italian flag discoloured? I'm not an Italian (I'm Danish), so my familiarity with the flag is only cursory.

Also, the module is currently in beta, not alpha; but beta is still "not ready for production sites, use with care."

Well I for one think you're doing a fantastic job Fresco, especially when I look at the issue queue. Your English is not bad either.
