It's just happened again!
I was editing a Page, and suddenly my Input Format settings reverted to the default "Filtered HTML" -- without any such action on my part!
It just reverted to the Page default setting on its own!
Is this an error?
It seems to happen only occasionally, and only when I edit a Page (or Story)....

I'm not kidding, something keeps reverting my Input Format setting when I edit! It just happened again and I'd really like to know what's going on, please. The default setting is Filtered HTML, but I always make sure to set it to Full HTML for the Pages I create. Yet somehow every so often a Page gets switched back to Filtered when after I've edited its content!

DRUPAL DOCUMENTATION SUCKS BUFFALO CRAP and that's the truth! This question of mine has a very simple answer (all my questions do, as I am no power-user), but there's no manual around with an index I can look up.
So if someone is offended by simple facts, then I agree that they should not read my posts.
But if anyone really means to help newbies, they should adopt the motto of Catholic nuns: do good -- and disappear!

Obviously you are intentionally trying to piss off the folk that are able to help you. Is that working for you?
There is a simple answer - stop reloading the page. I'm not yet sure what's triggering it, but I've seen a small problem with some WYSIWYG javascript libraries on some browsers that resets the input format on reload. If that's not your problem, try reading how to submit a bug report and isolating the problem.
Your posts DO come off as extremely rant-y, and are largely bile and complaints. If you think you have some improvements in mind, please try describing them as positive actionable suggestions, not surrounded by your attacks on the community that's been putting the docs together so far.
It does sound like you have some energy and even enthusiasm to contribute to the learning curve, and if that ever comes out again, that may be cool. I do see that you've been putting some effort into the learning. But continually stating "everything sucks", "I can't read documentation" and adding way!! too!! much!??! PUNCTUATION!! to your simple issues is tiring. (!)

i give you credit for trying dman-- but don't waste your time. There's plenty of newbies actually deserving of assistance where your time would actually be worthwhile. Against my better judgement, I tried one last time in this thread to make the honey/vinegar point and was met with yet another data point proving this is a lost cause.
as you point out it's really a shame--- what a waste of energy.

Listen, sugar, I think you need to know how badly your documentation sucks. Seems like nobody's ever tol' you before, which may be why you're so shocked and displeased to hear the truth.
I don't see this as a matter of being "nice" or "civil"...if you want sweet and nice, go kiss a dog! ;-)
Seriously, I don't have a problem with your personality, but if you have a problem with my personality, how I express myself, etc., then ignore my posts. I really don't think I'm missing anything, and if I am, well, I wouldn't know it, so what? But I gotta be me, and right now Drupal documentation is most of what makes Drupal so frustrating. Or, rather, let me make the distinction between "documentation" and "tutorials" -- Drupal documentation is for developers and more advanced users, but Drupal tutorials is what's mostly needed!!

Tone down your aggressiveness. It's inappropriate for these forums and unlikely to result in any good progress within the project. If you don't change your tone and find a more proactive way of being a member of drupal.org then I'll join the other community members in getting your account blocked.

I don't know why people think that if you disagree with them you either don't "listen" or don't "understand."
I have heard the criticisms of my criticisms, and all I can do is shrug. I simply disagree! What more can I say? I don't think I'm "aggressive" so much as tenacious. But really, whatever.
Ultimately, I can only speak for myself using my own words, not anyone else's. And being my words, they reflect my sensibilities, not anyone else's.
As for getting my account blocked, don't you think it'd be much easier for you to just ignore my posts?

And I'm not even saying that you volunteers suck -- only that the documentation (your game) sucks.
Big difference, unless you are nothing more than your documentation.
I'm discussing ideas here, and if I attack anything, it's ideas, not people and personalities.
I should think that the great promise of the internet and web is that we can put behind us, behind our screens and keyboards, everything but the idea itself.
And my "idea," common and vulgar though it may be, is that Drupal documentation is NOT HELPFUL. Perhaps "documentation" is the wrong mindset, suggesting as it does "reference" and "archival" when what anyone looking for "documentation" is often looking for is a "tutorial" more than a "dictionary" or "grammar," "book of rules"....
As for honey or vinegar -- vinegar is healthier. Besides, who wants to attract flies?
Anyway, Zirvap on the other thread invited me to join the Documentation Team, and I'll do so because I see that they actually want a newbie's perspective. I didn't think I could contribute to documentation because, well, I don't know Drupal! But it seems that there are other ways, mainly to review documentation for "clarity" to a newbie's way of thinking...so, well, off I go, then.
As for "punctuation"...I don't know why you have a problem with my orthography; do you know how unforgiving a computer would be??
But thanks for the hint about page reloading...I think that's what it is, yes...just a bug, then? Well, at least now I know when to expect it!
