I might be stupid and unnecessary pedantic. But wouldn't it be better to rename this project to RTE (Rich Text Editor).

Why?

To be more generic. Some RTE's might not me what you commonly describe as a WYSIWYG editor. That could be an editor for the Markdown syntax or something similar. The name RTE is also shorter and simpler to write, pronounce, code, remember and doesn't look as encrypted as WYSIWYG do.

Just a thought :)

This might happen when Wysiwyg API is functionally where it aims to be and the project is moving into Drupal core.
Until then, names are unimportant.
