Issues with website layout

I have created a website using this template but a few of my friends have issues with the layout. For me personally it is viewing fine (IE7).

1) IE6 - The buttons are a completely different size. Is that supposed to happen? mine stretch out right across the page, however my friends is only half way along the page (see screencap ie6buttons.jpg)
2) IE6 - The search box and all other items in the right hand column is appearing below the main section text when it should be aligning alongside (see screencap ie6search.jpg)
3) Safari/Firefox Mac user - Again same issues with the right hand column but also the contact button appears underneath the main bar of links and then when she hovers over a link on the bar the contact link shifts along!!! (see screencaps safari1.jpg and safari2.jpg)

Any advice? I really want this site to be viewable to all if possible due the amount of visitors it gets daily already. I love this layout!
