The current breadcrumbs architecture depends heavily on breadcrumbs being treated as part of the body area of a theme. I really, really want the flexibility to put the breadcrumbs in the header area of the theme. (See http://www.mn-leon.org/ for an example of how I like to use breadcrumbs in site design -- especially under News, Volunteer, and Support PML. This site isn't yet on Drupal, but probably will be in 2-3 months.)
