Help needed with installing theme

hardybt - August 20, 2008 - 05:56

Hi - I'm a newbie and I'm learning as I go so take it easy on me...

I'm trying to install a theme (ifeeldirty) and I've placed the extracted file in the theme folder. I've also checked the engine folder and there's a php engine in there.

I then open my browser and login to my site's admin to hopefully discover the new theme and it's not there.

Where do I go from here? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there,
very simpe : go to "administer>themes". There, you should see your theme listed, and will be able to select it as default theme.
By the way, the themes you install should not be stored in the /themes folder, even though it will work. In order to be more flexible (especially when you'll upgrade your version of Drupal), you should put your themes in /sites/all/themes/drupal-contrib/ (you'll need to create /themes and /drupal-contrib, those are not included in the default installation).
Good luck, tell us how it goes,

And God, or Dries and another bunch of geeks, created Drupal. Whoever it was from, it was good.

Thanks. That got it working.
