It would be great to have multiple FN content types to set up different default sizes, permissions etc. Is this possible? Should I look into it myself?

I think much better solution would be make new CCK field that uses some flashnode functionality. This way users can make as many flash nodes as they need or even better - integrate flash content in any node with same elegant and easy way as flash node works. Flash node FTW! :) but CCK integration is a MUST.

Setting this as a duplicate of #319899: This will be a CCK field soon!.

Work is underway on a CCK version of flash node - it's a new project called FlashField. This will make it possible to add flash / flash node functionality to any content type.

Therefore flash node itself won't implement any features to enable multiple content types.

In the long run, flash node may even become obsolete as a result of FlashField! But in the short term the two will run in parallel, as long as I can find time to support them both!!!
