Back and forth
Hey guys,
I just want to say I have been using Drupal for about 4-5 months now and I love it, i have switched back a forth from CMS to CMS for various reasons.
I just finally want to get a platform down that I like. So I have used a few different CMS's:
Drupal - I like Drupal as it is Open Source (I'm a big fan of Open Source, for many reasons) it's very easy to customize, theme, publish content upload things etc.
Joomla - Much the same as Drupal, it's just another one I tried.
Dolphin - I like Dolphin due to it is very slick, it uses java alot for the fading and has user profile built in at installation. The chat feature is nice everything just works. The parts I don't like is that you cannot upload files (.rar, .zip), lack of plug-ins.
I love them all they all have extremely good features, but sadly the features I like are spread out through the three CMS's which, needless to say is a pain. So here it goes, this is what I want my site to have.
Users should be able to add each other as friends, be able to send PM's to other users, have a blog, have their own profile where they can upload pictures, videos and files.
Users should be able to share their own created content (It's mainly .zip, .rar and hell of a lot of pics and videos) I want to enable the user to share this content on their own node - which only they can edit. (limits on how much each user can upload would be nice)
Users should be able to create their own groups, the owner of the group can set permissions on which members of the group can edit the group page.
When the user logs in, instead of being taken to the home page I would like a "member" page where they get taken to the backend of their profile where they friend requests, new mail etc show up.
Basically it's a social networking site that shared user content (Kind of like Deviant Art I suppose).
Am I asking too much?

Please be aware that all the modules I suggest should be used with Drupal vers. 5.10
Not all the mentioned module are ported to version 6.4 yet but I'm confident that, let say at the end of the Year or
beginning next 1st quarter of 2009 you may ugrade to 6.
Would be nice if you find the Time, after you have tested your project if you will share with our community your experiences.
