While I've successfully set up my integrated Gallery, I get an error message any time I try to mess with the module settings, specifically user settings. The message goes away after a few minutes, but I cannot sync users or go back to the install page to see if there's a problem. Up to 3 errors show up at a time. I would attach the generated report, but I get the same error(s) when I try to download it.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a gallery permalink conflict with Drupal.

To solve it in gallery URL rewrite admin panel you should set permalink and view item paths to:
gallery/v/%filename%
gallery/v/%path%

respectively.

You can change the paths back to whatever you wish once you have Drupal gallery admin set up how you want - but you will get the same errors as before when you edit these settings through Drupal unless the permalink paths are not set as above.
