I am seeking proposals for expanding our Web site (www.commonwealmagazine.org) on a new CMS with additional functionality beyond what we have today.
Today it is a publishing site (using the SPIP-Agora CMS) with more than 2000 articles (about a dozen added biweekly) and a blog with comments (running on Wordpress), as well as the usual static pages and secure forms for subscribing and donating. Much of the content is restricted to paying subscribers (either print subscribers or online-only subscribers). The blog is free to all users, but commenting is restricted to registered users (free or paid). There are no requirements for internal workflow controls. SPIP-Agora currently has significant performance slowness in the editing process, otherwise we are reasonably satisfied with its capabilities.
In the next iteration of the site we want to add several new content sections and page types, a more effective content tagging scheme, more accurate and intelligent site search, small SEO enhancements, and a revised home page and navigation design to incorporate and showcase the expanded content.
We have a staff of 9 with no dedicated internal tech resource, so we also hope that whoever we use as a developer would also have an ongoing relationship with us for a few hours a month of fixes, smaller enhancements, and dealing with the inevitable crashes and emergencies.
We are also an impecunious nonprofit hoping to accomplish all this for $20,000 or less, exclusive of design help and ongoing maintenance/support.
If you have an interest in this project please contact me for more details. Many thanks.
