It would be great if removing the pre-auth role triggered a "welcome" email that alerts the new user that their account has been approved. Naturally, a lot of things would be great -- wondering if anyone has expressed this idea before. I saw a module that sends notification for account status change, but not one for role change.

i'm almost positive this is addressed by core in 6.x. i won't address this in 5.x
