J1mmy commentedYes, but is it possible to modify the text displayed on the registration page? I want to add a little more info. Also, is it possible to remove that option completely. I want to be able to automatically register users for newsletters without them have an option, and then they can modify that option in their control panel.

moonray commentedI've added functionality to allow a hidden sign-up field. Combined with setting the newsletter to opt-out it should accomplish what you desire.
Have a go at it with the dev build.

This is exactly what I was looking for.... - A way to auto subscribe new users to the newsletters with the box already checked upon registration. It also allows users to uncheck box if they do not wish to receive email. perfect, simple, functional. thanks.
