CCK Drop down question

This is a "Can CCK do this?" question. I've been playing with Drupal for a couple of month now and have been very pleased with what can be done without coding as far as CCK, Views, Panels, etc.

Right now I'm porting our Workorder system over and one thing that I wanted to do is was create a content type to story our Antivirus Licenses that we have purchased and have available. There will be a checkbox that will just say that the license has been used. On another content type I have a place where I have customers and we can choose via a drop down an available licenese for them (which is pulled from a view).

My big question is there a way without much difficulty that when that license is picked from the drop down then it is checked in the license system as used, also maybe set some other information in the license content type.
