Send and email to notify a created user.

Econoweb - August 29, 2005 - 19:35

Hello,

Everytime when I create a user as the site administrator at the end of the process i got the message that the user is created an no email has been send.

Is it possible to send and mail to the created user with his username and password.

Is it possible to explain how i have to configure this ?

Thanks

Send email to notify a created user

You could log out, type the new users name in the log in box and choose Request new password.
That wouls send a new password to the new user.

Enable the profile module and then go to administer > settings > profiles where you can add extra contact fields

That would be possible and

That would be possible and also would make sense to me. If there are any interested people out there for such a feature I would write a patch (user.module) to allow the automatic generation of such email ...

this would be great! i was searching in vain but couldn't find it. now i know it's something we need for a more consistent interface.

I second that motion

I'm also interested in a 'send email' function on the 'create new user' page. It makes sense for sites where users are invited/defined by the administrator, and would be a really useful feature.

It seems there are no shortcuts to achieving the same thing, so if anyone knows how to hack the user module I'd really appreciate the advice.
