I really think this should be in core for taxonomy term selectors on node forms and other places. views2 already has it's own version of this for adding new fields and sorts. It is very useful and effective. Thoughts?

I think it's definitely worth bringing up. If you have a couple of minutes, could you post it as a feature request to Drupal Core (7.x) and then leave a comment here with a link to the feature request?
