Would it be possible to implement a optionspage which lets you choose if you want to display both edit and delete or if you just want to show one of them?

That's not too bad of an idea. Mainly I just wanted to make sure the module was small and lightweight, but it shouldn't affect it much.

One option is to split the module in two, so that when you want to enable the module you can enable edit and/or delete, according to your needs.

I just added an options menu in 6.x-1.3 (admin/settings/admin-links) that lets you decided which links/features to use. Thanks for the suggestion!
