I am finding cron really really really irritating

What would be great is to enable the site to be reindexed every time someone makes a post.

However for someone like me who doesn't really know what cron is but can nevertheless be thankful that it exists this is a problem.

I have seen the general advice given about cron but that does not solve teh problem.##

If i want to make a search on a post that was made immediatly or even in the last five min it seems that this is impossibe

If i was next to the computer i could do it but i am not.

so any sugesstions.

I do not think a module to solve a module is the answer in this case either.

My admin did offer me lost of boxes that seemed to contradict each other about cron ie run every five min, run every 10 min and so on perhaps if i understand this better I will be able to get to the boottom of this .
