Blank body field is not ignored

I created a new CCK type, and didn't want to use the body field. Following the instructions, I left the field blank on the edit string, but when I go to the map content page, I still see a select list for it, with no label above it. If I do use the body field and give it a name, it appears as the label.

I have a patch for this that's 90% complete. I'll roll it into head within a few days (the holiday weekend is screwing up my schedule a little bit)
