I think this module would be more usable if the admin page changed from being a list of select boxes for roles, with hardcoded weights, to a list of hardcoded roles with selectboxes for weights ie. to make it look like the core Drupal menu pages. You could then add the funky JS drag-n-drop feature. With this improvement I think this would make this module core-worthy.

This version of Filter Default is not supported anymore. The issue is closed for this reason.
