Thanks for the suggestions. These are all interesting ideas and are all worth considering. An "Automatic editions" feature seems to be a popular request, as others have suggested it before.

A final release of Innovation News is due later this week, and so it would not be possible to enable these features and have time to test them for a stable release. But we will have future releases of the module (hopefully a 1.5 release in a reasonable amount of time), and we will definitely keep these suggestions in mind.

Thanks alot!

HI

Why don't you use Taxonomy vocabularies as editions? sounds Good? so that we can make the use of taxonomy access, taxonomy images etc.

Having the Edition Manager work on top of the Taxonomy system (instead of using its own categorization system) has been a popular request for Innovation News, and provides many benefits. It will certainly be one of the features considered for future releases.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for the install profile. I decided to have a look at it first because, unlike prosepoint, it is 100% drupal. However, I have issues with the following:

Essential:
1. For us, because we are a monthly publication, we need editions to be dates.
2. Need to control where images go in a story and have option of placing multiple images in a story. Did I miss something here?

Wish:
2. It would be lovely to see this based on a css theme like zen.

I reckon if these issues could be fixed it would be a huge step towards the profile being adopted by newspapers and magazines (print media wanting cms-based on line presence)

Question:
I couldn't figure out how to have a new topic (story type) appear as a primary link (what would the path be to my new topic?)

Well I'll check back and see how you're getting on with this interesting project although I don't see much movement here. Does that mean you are too busy with other things or too busy with Innovation?!?

Many users have requested custom names for editions. That will certainly be something which we build into future versions of the Innovation News profile. I'm not aware of any good way to attach multiple images in one story. Again, that is something we will look into for future releases.

To create a new topic, you will need to go to admin/content/taxonomy and click "Add terms" in the "Topic" row.

And yes, we are in fact busy with many other projects at the current moment (http://opl.cias.rit.edu/projects). Unfortunately, Innovation News has not been the highest priority lately as some of the other projects are in still in early stages, whereas Innovation News has already had a major release. Hopefully moving forward we will be able to spend more time on the profile. Keep an eye out for updates!

Thanks for the feedback!
