Hi, I just would like to point you to a new Drupal distro for Newspaper format that you might have a look at
they do not mention 'Drupal' on the site much but it is. Unlike your project they seem to opt out as full distro. -which has pros as much as cons - such as much effort to keep updates with the Drupal itself than less integration with the modules that not on your distro etc.
Playing around with it might be might be beneficial to your project.
they obliviously have their profile, few own modules, most importantly integration of the date.module -that i have mentioned on an issue post of your module + the CCK integration that you already working on
prosepoint installationprofile/distro module set
admin_menu
cck

node_clone
local_tasks_block (similar to your own module)

-regards
ps: sorry for making this post as Feature request -but no appropriate option on the categories for a generic forum post specific to a profile - maybe setting up a group would be appropriate

bengtan commentedHi,
Found this thread through Google, and just thought I'd pop my head up and say hi. I'm the developer behind ProsePoint. I wasn't even aware that you guys (Innovation News) were doing Innovation News.
Also, just a quick one.
You mentioned my Local Tasks Block module. I'm about to kill that module moving forward. It was an interesting experiment in moving the local tasks tabs off to the right, but I've decided it's causes more problems (with layout and usability) than it solves. However, since it is open source, you're very welcome to have a look and copy ideas off it if you wish.

john.karahalis commentedGreetings!
I took a look at ProsePoint and I like what I see. A great level of polish and some really intuitive features.
Our Innovation News project differs slightly in its goal. Innovation News aims to be a cross-media newspaper (stories to print, stories to Google Earth, etc) whereas ProsePoint seems to put a greater emphasis on web content and thus is able to provide more web-based features (video, social networking, etc). Two slightly different twists on the implementation of a web-based newspaper.
I'm sure we will be able to learn much from each other, made easier by the fact that both projects are open source. I'll continue to watch ProsePoint. By the same count, you are of course free to use any of our modules or build derivative works from them.

bengtan commentedI agree. You guys have the harder task. I don't envy you :)
All the best then. I'm sure our paths will cross again.

john.karahalis commentedChanged priority to normal as there is much that Innovation News and ProsePoint can learn from each other.
