I really don't want any authoring information on the page content... I don't mind the date - but the authoring information is not needed. I think I saw how to remove that somewhere... but I can't find it now... any help would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

you can hide the complete posted information in themes settings general. and there you can hide it for each content type separately.
