I have a statcounter account and I've also enabled the Drupal statistics module. However, the two don't seem to match. Drupal shows a lot more hits than stat counter does. I've installed the statcounter code at the bottom of the page template and verified that it does show up in all the pages (or at least the ones I checked).

I like statcounter, but I figure Druapl increases a counter when an article is displayed which I would think would be fairly accurate. Any ideas why it seems the two aren't matching?

About the discrepancy in page views, Drupal counts page impressions and statistics systems count page views. The difference is that if you keep pressing F5 to refresh the page, Drupal counts it as another page view, while statistics systems will count it as the same page view.
