I'm actually writing a blog post about converting Drupal themes from 5 to 6 and I like this theme so might as well go through the steps and help out by porting this theme.
The majority of the port is complete and can be downloaded at http://drop.io/ynu1u8m. There are a few issues with the CSS. One is how the function _links was implemented didn't work with Drupal 6 so the span had to be moved outside the link which caused one side of the tabs to be off which needs to be fixed.
Also, I have never used this theme before and since there was no demo site I was unsure of the placement of the sidebars. (a three column layout or two sidebars on the same side) so that might have to be adjusted since the Drupal 6 uses the $body_classes variable rather than $layout.
I don't have capacity to maintain another theme as I currently maintain three (http://drupal.org/user/464624) with a forth theme to be submitted soon. I can try to point you in the right direction if you need help though, so feel free to ask.

summit commentedHi,
It would be great to set it up as 6.dev version here on drupal.org. Than people can show you patches to improve the port.

jibort commentedHi Ishmael,
It seems that the link http://drop.io/ynu1u8m does not work any more. Is there another way to download your Skymod upgrade. Thanks for your work.

ishmael-sanchez commentedHi Jibort, I didn't keep it around and that drop.io link probably expired. Maybe someone can post a zip or tar of the theme.
